Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators! Women in STEM Leadership (WISL) is excited to announce our Python Programming Summer Camp for 5th Graders! 📍 Location: University of Dallas – College of Business Cardinal Farrell Hall, Classroom #205 📅 Dates: June 8 – June 12, 2026 ⏰ Time: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Our WISL Programming Boot Camp for Middle School Children introduces students to the exciting world of coding through Python — one of the most in-demand programming languages today. During this immersive, hands-on week, students will: ✅ Learn foundational coding concepts ✅ Build beginner-friendly Python projects ✅ Strengthen problem-solving and critical thinking skills ✅ Build confidence in technology ✅ Engage with STEM mentors At WISL, we believe exposure creates opportunity. By introducing students — especially girls and underrepresented communities — to technology early, we are helping build the next generation of engineers, AI innovators, and tech leaders. 🔗 Registration is now open! The workshop will provide emerging female STEM leaders with knowledge and skills in:  Foundational leadership principles (the theory of what leadership is) Principles and attributes of STEM leadership Foundational skills for emerging STEM leaders, particularly women A research-informed model of leadership development for women in STEM What informal and emerging leadership looks like in practice in STEM Systemic gender barriers in STEM industries that can impact women’s career progression, along with a model of protective factors (and associated strategies) to help positively navigate these Identifying their individual STEM purpose The role of resilience as a protective factor for women in STEM and how to intentionally build resilience   Through an interactive approach, the workshop will also assist participants to learn from their peers and build peer networks.
